Urban Living Residence

I'm very angry about the counter service. They sent us the wrong way, so we had to go back and forth carrying heavy bags. My mother has leg pain, and nobody even apologized. The staff member's attitude was bad. This is my last visit. Also, the air conditioning in the room wasn't cold.

I really liked this little hotel. The room had a lovely view of greenery with the city in the distance, and the surrounding area was lush and green. I could hear birds chirping in the morning. The bed was comfortable, the room clean, and the location near ummc was good. There are lots of amenities in the building, and the receptionist was friendly. The staff, especially the Filipino lady, was lovely and helpful, and housekeeping cleaned the room without any issues. The bathroom was small but worked fine. There was no kettle in the room, but a hot water dispenser on the same floor. The only downside was the lobby music, which I could hear from my fifth-floor room. If you're sensitive to noise, ask for a higher floor.

The room was decent for the price, but I laughed at the 8.5/10 rating they give at the counter. There are quite a few long-term residents, including students and business people. The only real positives for me were the nearby supermarket and being close to University Malaya and Mahsa Uni. The free study room on the 3rd floor is too hot because it has no door and the aircon is useless. The general lobby is cool from all the fresh air, but unbearable in the afternoon. Since it's so open, noise from the groups that are often there carries even to the top floors. The communal kitchen is filthy, with food all over the place, unwashed pots and pans, and clogged drains. I feel bad for the abang/kakak who clean it. Staff clean only once at midnight and don't ask people to keep it tidy, so that doesn't help. Sure, guests may be at fault, but they need to tell people to clean up. There's only a small sign in the corner.

The affordable price and good location were positives, but the room needed better cleaning and maintenance. There were lots of tiny mosquitoes, the air-conditioning wasn't cold, and a previous guest's false eyelashes were still stuck to the wall. Front desk staff spoke only Malay, so it was hard to communicate. For the price, it was acceptable, but cleanliness and upkeep need work.
