NIDA Rooms Bukit Malawati Supreme at Malawati Ria Hotel

I ended up writing this at 2:06 AM in Kuala Lumpur, after having to travel back there in the middle of the night because I had nowhere to stay. Malawati Ria Hotel and Traveloka both let me down, and the situation caused a lot of stress and completely ruined my plans. I booked through Traveloka at 7:40 PM, got a confirmed reservation, and headed to the hotel as planned. But when I arrived around 11:30 PM, staff told me the hotel was full and said Traveloka's system was still accepting bookings despite there being no rooms. If Malawati Ria Hotel knew there was a problem, why didn't anyone contact me as soon as I booked? Telling me only after I arrived late at night showed no responsibility or consideration for customers. I had to go all the way back to Kuala Lumpur and struggle to find somewhere to stay. It wasted my time, money, and energy. Both Malawati Ria Hotel and Traveloka need to take responsibility for this failure and make sure other customers don't face the same frustrating experience.

We stayed in a family room with a window and a view of the park across the street. The location is handy for walking, with restaurants and convenience stores nearby. The beds were comfortable, the room was very clean, and the staff went above and beyond to help our family.

The room was really, really small, so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with claustrophobia. A window would have been appreciated. Still, my one night there was fine for what I needed, which was just a place to sleep, and the hotel is cheap and well located. I'd recommend it anyway.

I had to stay here in an emergency, but the bedbugs had me itching all night. The bedsheet looked reused and barely clean, and the floor was dusty. There’s no window. At least the air conditioning worked, there was a TV with MyTV channel, two towels, and a clean attached bathroom. The location has a few pluses for a one-night stay: it’s beside a Maybank branch and within walking distance of Bukit Malawati for hiking, Masjid Raja Lumu, the street wall mural in the back lane, and tasty Malay food restaurants. But an emergency stay here is a big no. If you desperately need to stay, bring or buy a can of ridsect repellent to kill the bedbugs.
