J Suites Hotel

The place is convenient, but I would never stay here again because I didn't feel safe. The hotel hairdryer exploded beside me with smoke coming out. After I called room service, a staff member brought another one and asked me to try it, even though I'd just been shocked by the short circuit. It still didn't work, and then he asked me twice to test it in the bathroom socket. I can put up with cleanliness or poor service if it's not too bad, but risking my wife's and my life is a huge red flag. Other problems included limited parking, poor sound insulation, bad ventilation, and a bad shower heater.

The hotel was good. There was no breakfast or pool, but tea and coffee were available, along with a gym and toothbrush. Wi-Fi was very slow. Parking is free, but it's first come, first served, and there's a RM 100 deposit.

The location is excellent, right in the city centre, with banks and places to eat within walking distance. The staff were polite. For RM109, though, I got a room with no window and barely enough room for luggage. We had to shift the bed just to make space to lay out a prayer mat. The bathroom was spacious. It's okay if all you need is somewhere to sleep, but avoid it if you're claustrophobic.

The room was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. Parking was a serious issue: the same steep, narrow ramp serves as both entrance and exit. It's hard to navigate and feels unsafe, especially at night or in a larger vehicle. The layout really needs improving. Loud dogs barking at night also disturbed our sleep. The room itself was good, but the parking and location made the stay less pleasant and didn't feel ideal from a safety standpoint.
