OYO 445 Charisma Hotel

It’s an old place, and the location near Lotus, McD, and KFC is about the only good thing. I had to switch rooms on the second floor because the aircon and TV didn’t work. The other room was okay until the aircon started making enough noise to wake me every two hours. Bring your own towel. I think the hotel down the road is a better deal.

I came from KL with my mom for a family event in Kuantan and booked one night through agoda. The room I got didn’t match the one I’d seen and booked. It had a king bed, but was so small it felt like a single room, with barely enough space for two people. The sheets were very dirty, covered in yellow patches, and the room smelled odd. I showed reception what I had booked and complained, but nothing was done. They said sorry and told me every room was full, so I had to stay there. The service was seriously awful. I only used the room to get ready for the event and checked out that night. Booking this room felt like a waste of money. Please don’t trust the other reviews, I made that same mistake.

There are plenty of places to eat nearby, and the price is very reasonable. The hotel seems fairly new and was spotless. The woman at check-in spoke good English, and it’s a 7R Grab ride from the bus station. This place deserves a higher rating.

The water pressure was great and the bed was okay, but my queen room had no window and smelled. It was a little small, and the toilet drain was blocked. For a one-night layover, it’s fine if you just need to sleep and go. The cigarette smell throughout the walkway needs a lot of work.
