Pavilion Hotel Kuantan @ City Centre

The location is near a shopping mall, and the check-in was smooth. The girl at the desk was kind and very helpful. The room was quite large, with four pillows, but the Astro barely worked and only one channel was available. Cleanliness was my main issue: the bathroom was dirty. The air conditioning wasn’t very cold either, and during my 3D2N stay there was no daily housekeeping.

There were some useful things in the room, including a fan, a hair dryer, and enough plug sockets for charging. That’s about the extent of the good points. I checked the place carefully before arriving, but was really disappointed. Dust covered the cabinet and bedside table, and with carpeted floors there was dust all over. Worse, bed bugs, or Pijat in bahasa, were on the cabinet and everywhere else. This needs to be taken seriously, especially with babies or children staying there, since it’s dangerous. The bathroom was dirty too. I sprayed water on the floor and dirt came out within seconds, which made it seem like housekeeping hadn’t washed it. I hope they take these problems seriously so the reviews can improve. Thank you.

Getting parking can be difficult if you arrive by car during office hours. Otherwise, this is a nice, good value hotel for budget travelers. The staff are friendly, the room was very clean and had the basic necessities, including things some five-star hotels don’t provide. It’s also in a strategic location, with several major shopping malls within walking distance. 👍🏻

The water pressure was strong and everything else was great. I’d still recommend staying here, though the blanket made me a bit itchy in the middle of the night and should be cleaned properly before being put on a fresh bed. They could also provide more shampoo for guests staying over one night.
