We had no complaints about the room: it was clean, the beds were comfortable, the air conditioning worked well, and the bathroom had a lovely warm shower with good pressure. The reception staff were also really kind and helpful. There’s a gorgeous cat outside the front doors, often sitting in the sun on a chair to greet people. For getting around, it’s a short, cheap Grab ride into the city, and there’s a local mall plus a few restaurants and coffee shops within easy walking distance.

WiFi was the only downside, it didn’t work. Otherwise, the rooms were clean and cosy, with an attached bathroom, air conditioning, and facilities for making tea and coffee. The prices were reasonable too. I was there on a business trip in December, and the lobby’s Christmas decorations looked lovely. I’d also consider staying here for a holiday.

Parking feels very safe inside the church compound, and it’s convenient for getting to the airport. The hotel is at the top of a church building, which startled me on my first visit. I thought Waze had sent me to the wrong place! The prices are reasonable, even compared with some well-known budget airline hotel franchises. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Tourist spots aren’t especially close, but with your own transport, shopping areas like Aeon and Cityone aren’t far. This is one of my favourite places in Kuching, whether I’m here for meetings or just a relaxing weekend, and it remains my first choice. Thanks to the 1ACS staff for their service.

I could hear every word from the older women staying beside my room when they woke me at 4 am. Maybe they were speaking too loudly, or maybe the soundproofing is just really poor. Either way, it was a bad experience.
