Dormani Hotel Kuching

The room gets a lot of noise from motorcycles on the street, so bring earplugs. WiFi was unreliable and the signal didn't reach the room. The hotel needs a few more improvements, and I won't book it again.

I usually stay at this hotel whenever I visit Kuching because of the location, free car park and friendly front desk staff. But this trip, from 4-7 December 2025, was disappointing. My room wasn't made up during the entire stay, even though the “Make Up Room” sign and indicator button were on the whole time. That's below the service standard I expected and needs immediate improvement.

I’ve stayed here twice now. The deluxe room has plenty of space, and there’s room to pray without anything in the way. They also provide a prayer mat and an iron with an ironing board. Water comes in a jar rather than bottles, and housekeeping refills it the next day. The bathroom is in poor shape, though. There’s mold on the walls and ceiling, the shower pressure is weak, and the toilet and sink pressure is much stronger. The floor tiles get very slippery, which feels dangerous. Bathroom supplies were just one small shampoo bottle and a little round bar of soap.

The wiring and switches are old, and so was the towel. Bring your own if you’re staying here.
