Jazepuri

I spent eight days at Jazepuri-Jaze 2, run by Zack, and I was glad I chose this homestay. Zack is friendly and helpful, and does his best to make guests happy. The place is away from the main tourist activity, which I liked. You can take a Grab, which isn’t very expensive, or cross the river by boat to get to the action. I used the bicycle the owner provided. With a car or motorbike, getting to the city center is no problem either. There are two restaurants about a five-minute walk away and a supermarket about ten minutes away. The homestay has hot and cold water, coffee and tea, and a kitchen you can use. It has what you need to cook, though there’s no microwave, just a gas stove and electric oven. There’s also a washing machine with detergent, which you can use anytime, and you can dry clothes on the roof. The view from up there is beautiful. Ask Zack about the trip to the farm and local tribe village, and the orangutan sightseeing. You can pick local exotic fruits to take with you and swim in the local river. The trip ends with a nice lunch of local food in the jungle. I’d suggest spending a couple of nights at the local homestay, where the owner will cook for you. Zack can arrange all this if you ask. At the end of my stay, Zack gave me a ride to the airport, which was very kind. I’m planning to come back next year and hope it’s as nice as the first time. You will hear roosters and the Muslim prayer, as happens in Muslim countries. Ask Zack for earplugs and he’ll provide them.
