Jom! The staff are friendly, and the place has a relaxed feel. The Chah Kueh Tiaw is really good too, at a reasonable price.

I used to like this place as a tucked-away lunch or dinner spot for tasty, affordable food and cold beer. On my latest visit, though, the food wasn't as good, the portions had shrunk, and the prices had gone up. They also need to be more consistent with the food and improve the cleanliness.

If you love spicy food, give their ayam cobek a try. Ulalalala, it's a 5/5 for me.

What I like about Johns place is getting family-style food cooked by local people, alongside local diners. I'm from Spain, and the squid 🦑 was cooked perfectly with plenty of spice. I've eaten here four times and never been disappointed. If you're European like me, or even worse, American, don't come here and then leave a negative review because it was three-star food for your two dollars. Stick to the tourist trail if you don't want to eat at a local place where local people enjoy authentic food. If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all 💃. Or call yourself Boss Man 😂👿

The fried fish milk soup noodles are quite beautiful.
