Loft Waterfront

You’re right on the waterfront, with a 24-hour convenience store downstairs, so there’s always food, drinks, or something to do close by. The hostel is clean, comfortable, and cosy. It can get a bit noisy, but I think that’s true of most hostels in the center.

A good low-cost place for students, with friendly staff and a clean room. The bunk room is quite small, but that’s fine as long as you can sleep 😂 It cost rm15(3$) per person. The air conditioner was very cold, and the Wi-Fi was fast enough for 1080p video. The location is strategic, close to the waterfront and plaza merdeka.

The room was small, but the facilities were good, with fancy air conditioning and free tea, coffee, oats, and biscuits. The girl at reception was friendly. Still, we couldn’t sleep before 2am because the 24-hour shop downstairs played loud music and used a hammer to defrost a freezer. The walls are really thin, so there’s little to block noise from downstairs or neighboring rooms. We went down to ask them to turn it down. They were nice, but carried on with it.

The room was tidy and the air conditioning cool, but the bathroom and toilet were the worst I’ve ever seen. They were tiny, the floor was slippery, and the toilet was so dirty and unpleasant to use. There was no soap, hand soap, or shampoo. The staff seemed not to care about keeping the hostel clean. In the morning, a staff member was watching YouTube loudly and should have used earphones. I’m really disappointed, 100%, and will never come back.
