OYO 728 Tai Pan Hotel

I booked and fully paid for a family room, but because I checked in late, around 1am, they gave it to a walk-in customer who was meant to check out and didn’t. We were given a twin room instead, and I didn’t get the price difference back. The window had been left open, so mosquitoes got in, and the air conditioning wasn’t working properly. I’m disappointed with OYO management.

This inn was so bad, I’d give it only 0.2 stars. We requested two rooms, but when we arrived, ours had already been released to other people. The staff gave us a family room with a broken door that smelled bad and was really dirty, like it hadn’t been cleaned or might still be under maintenance. I asked to check out early and was refused, while the OYO app showed only one room checked out instead of two. I called OYO for help, but got nowhere.

We paid in advance for a family room and booked early, but when we arrived a little late, another family had been given our room and had extended their stay. Even though we’d already paid, there was no family room left. Since it was late and we were exhausted, we had to accept two rooms with single beds instead of finding another hotel or trying to get a refund.

There’s a food court nearby, so you don’t need to go far to eat. It’s a nice budget option if you’re not fussy, with enough for a sleep and a bath.
