The Village House

Lin and Ramli were a pleasure to meet, and the breakfast was nice. The room was comfortable, with beautiful surroundings and distinctive paintings, woodwork and furnishings to see and use. A beach affected by the tide is within walking distance, and people in the village were friendly. The Grab ride from Kuching offered lovely roads and scenery. Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed our two nights here, and even the rainy weather didn’t take away from how lovely the place is. It’s cozy rather than luxurious, and the rooms are fairly simple, so anyone expecting spotless perfection might be disappointed. The staff are very friendly. Two nights felt like enough for us, but I’d recommend it to friends.

Out on the edge of Kuching, this is a peaceful hotel with lovely decor and a quiet feel. The food was delicious and the staff were really friendly. We’d absolutely recommend it if you’re after a restful stay in a beautiful setting.

The quiet atmosphere was what I loved most. Sitting on the fan-cooled verandah or by the pool, with sunlight coming through the wooden blinds, made it easy to unwind. It’s near Sarawak Cultural Village and nature hikes, so there are things to explore while still feeling tucked away. The Village House has a lovely pool area, traditional Bornean architecture, wooden carvings and vintage decor. The stilted rooms have a kampung feel with modern comforts, and inside they were clean, quiet and tastefully done with local textiles and timber furniture. The open-air dining space overlooks the garden, and breakfast was fresh and delicious, with local and Western choices. We were warmly welcomed, and the lush greenery made the place feel peaceful from the start. I’d recommend it to couples, solo travelers or anyone after a charming stay with a touch of Sarawak culture.
