The location is great, right by the main road, and most things were good. The food really let the stay down, though. Supper was just one large pot of fish porridge, and breakfast was mass-produced economy noodles and mee hoon, almost army-style. Dinner was the best meal, but the rice was very hard. Drinks came from those cheap dispenser machines, with no Coke or canned soft drinks at all. At SGD 150, I don't think it was worth the price. The neighbours next door had a party and served better food and drinks than we got.

There’s plenty to do here with family or friends: karaoke, fishing, walks, mahjong and a game room. The food was generous, with good portions, and the service was great. It’s also handy for the supermarket and other nearby amenities. Rooms are quite close together, so you should expect some singing late into the night. It’s a place for relaxing and spending time together, not quiet meditation. One small suggestion: please provide Coca-Cola. We saw it at a neighbour’s place, but didn’t have any.

The kids’ pool is welcoming for children, and you can go fishing too. The staff were really nice and would let us know when dinner was ready, then drive us to a restaurant to eat. I liked the design and feel of the place. When we left, they said goodbye and thanked us, with a come-again greeting. We’d come back, and I’d recommend it.

The room was clean, and the staff were friendly. We had a lovely weekend away with my sisters, with lots of fresh seafood and great meals. At RM150 a night, it felt well worth it. We had a great experience and would highly recommend Mangrove Holiday House～
