Online bookings don’t include the breakfast buffet, which is only for walk-ins. Otherwise, check-in and check-out were easy, and parking was good, not far away. The place was quiet and calm, with a clean lift and very friendly staff. One female Indian staff member was especially helpful and soft-spoken. The room, washroom, towels, pillow sheets, bed sheets, and blankets were all clean, 10/10. Wi-Fi was 4.5/10. Convenient, yes!

The room was clean and check-in went smoothly. It’s a good, typical hotel with lots of parking, though spaces are usually nearly full because Nasi Kandar Yasmeen is next door. Everything was almost perfect, except the bathroom drain was slow enough that I thought it was clogged. It wasn’t, just slow.

Food and convenience stores are easy to find nearby, including Nasi Kandar Yasmeen, Tomyam Food, Pasaraya Econo, and Ai-Cha. Parking beside and in front of the building was convenient. The room was spacious and clean, with a clean bathroom, strong water pressure, and a TV with basic channels. The lobby was comfortable and nice for relaxing. It was an accessible place for wheelchair users, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out were easy, and the stay felt comfortable and calm.

The area is pretty bare, though there’s a nasi kandar shop in the same row where you can at least get dinner. Parking is free and adequate. There aren’t many hotels in Kulim, and perhaps the hotel relies on that instead of pushing its service or quality. For the price, the room is large and comfortable, but generally dated, with most standard hotel amenities. Breakfast was bare, and I couldn’t find anything worth eating or healthy. It was served in the conference hall because there’s no dedicated breakfast area. The staff were generally rude and unhelpful. When I asked for the Wi-Fi password, they insisted it was written on the keycard. Even after I showed them it wasn’t, they only said it aloud instead of writing it down. I also had to point out that I hadn’t received a breakfast coupon before the desk person reluctantly wrote a new one. The room layout was poorly planned for charging devices. There’s a strange partition in front of the bed with a plug for the hair dryer and a small ledge, but not enough outlets. At the desk, I had to unplug the fridge or drag it over to use the partition outlet, leaving nowhere for my phone and other devices. Boiling water meant unplugging the moved fridge again. The bedside area also looked like it was breaking off, so I couldn’t put anything there.
