Subra made our three-day stay at Coconut Beach Villa in Langkawi even better. He was humble, friendly, always available, and helped with anything I needed. With someone like him managing things, guests don’t need to worry about problems. Every property should have a manager like Subra. The pool was huge, well maintained, and had a comfortable chlorine level for everyone to enjoy. I had an amazing stay and will definitely return if I visit Langkawi again. Highly recommended!

This remote property may suit people looking for a quiet adventure, but I found several things disappointing. The photos and listings make it look attractive, yet the stay felt more like camping. The toilets and bathrooms are temporary in style, like camp or carton facilities. I saw a banded bullfrog near the commode, and cats wander around the tent-style concrete rooms. The room TV didn’t work, although mosquito coils were provided. The washroom has two doors, but neither could be locked, which is a privacy concern. The beach isn’t really accessible at low tide. The shore then has black mud and a petroleum-like layer, making it unpleasant to walk on. There’s no proper place to wash sand off outside the room after returning from the beach. The room gets two coffee sachets and two 500 ml water bottles each day, and the electric kettle works well for making tea or coffee. The property is wheelchair accessible. There are no nearby shops or markets, so food comes from delivery apps or the property’s quite expensive restaurant. Breakfast isn’t available before 8:00 AM. Two separate agencies operate there, one handling the complimentary breakfast and the other running the paid restaurant. It may work for adventure seekers who like remote places, but anyone expecting a comfortable beach resort could be let down.

I wish we could have stayed longer. The clean room had an incredible view, and the birds singing and palms swaying made the place feel refreshing. The bathroom was something we hadn’t seen before.

We loved the clean private beach and spacious, tidy room, and even saw the langkawi Aurora at night. We ate at the hotel restaurant almost every day because the food was good, and we didn’t get tired of it. Such a good Langkawi vacation spot. I’d stay here again next time.

The staff were nice, especially the woman serving breakfast, though the night restaurant staff seemed overwhelmed. You need a reservation to eat there while watching the sunset. The rooms were dirty and dated, with no TV and just one electrical outlet for the whole suite, none in the bathroom. The bathroom drains empty into a muddy little garden that reeks, like the toilet septic tank is overflowing. At night it’s really loud because the hotel is beside the airport landing strip. The beach is muddy and you can’t swim there. When you arrive, you’re warned that the whole west side of the island is polluted and told to go east, at least a 30-minute motorcycle ride, or 45 minutes from the other side. The best beach is 45 minutes away and taken up by hotels, so to use the beach you have to go where the fishing boats are. The grounds aren’t maintained, just bare sand and some wild weeds or desert greens, with no grass like in the photo. You get what you pay for. If you want better on this crappy island, you have to pay top dollar for a five-star hotel. All the cheaper places face the same polluted beach. My advice is to skip Langkawi.
