Hangouts Urban Eco Langkawi

Our stay at Hangouts Urban + Eco was a real letdown. There was hair in the beds, the sheets were dirty, rubbish from previous guests was still in the fridge, the toilet hadn't been cleaned, and the toothbrush glass was completely unhygienic. We also found a screw on the bedroom floor, and our daughter nearly stepped on it. That raised a serious safety concern. Room service was unreliable: even after reminders, they skipped it entirely one day. From the third day, the living room air conditioning no longer cooled properly. No one from management got in touch during our stay or when we checked out. We're usually easygoing, but this was disappointing. Langkawi itself was great. The hotel wasn't, and I can't recommend it.

The place was very quiet and in a perfect spot for a family holiday. Breakfast was tasty, the service was okay, and check-in went smoothly. The pools catered to everyone from toddlers through adults. Just watch out for visitors from the other realm.

The pool was a highlight of our week at Hangouts Urban + Eco. It's the kind of place where time seems to slow down, even though Grab drivers are racing around the island. Manager Safi was friendly and polite throughout, and really tried to make every request happen. Our family suite had room for everyone and all our luggage, and the IKEA-style rooms were better furnished than we expected. The location was okay, and getting around with Grab was easy. We did notice some noise at night from the electric aggregate, and the cleanliness could use improvement. On the plus side, we hardly saw bugs, and pest control came twice during the week, which we appreciated. Breakfast wasn't very European, but the in-room kitchen worked for us, and proper cooking kitchens were also available if requested. If we're back in Langkawi, we'll stay again. There's potential here, and Manager Safi helped make us feel welcome.

The pool is only a few steps from the nice room, which gives the place a different feel. We booked for two, but it can accommodate more, with a sofa bed too. Really worth it, and I'd highly recommend it for a family get-together.
