Hostel 19 Langkawi

We had no complaints. The beds were really good, the rooms cozy, and the WiFi was super. It’s a laid-back place with relaxed staff, plus free tea and coffee all day. The location is slightly tucked away, but there’s a supermarket nearby and the beach is an easy walk.

We stayed for two weeks and had no problems, thanks in part to the friendly staff. The beach and tourist areas are close by. You can rent a scooter for 35RM, and they’ll bring it to the hostel. Riding around the island made us feel free as birds.

Some of my best memories from the trip were made at the hostel and nearby. We were looked after with a lot of care, and the staff were flexible throughout our stay. Hostel 19 was a big part of what made the trip so memorable.

The bed was comfortable, and the fan was okay in the double room, but several things made the stay difficult. We had to fuss around to add a couple of nights. The water would stop intermittently, so the toilet couldn’t be flushed, and there was no bucket for the usual Asian flush. Since the toilet wasn’t cleaned regularly, human waste often built up. We also paid a 10 Ringgit key “deposit” that we were told would be returned, but never got it back.
