Marina Heights Resort

The room was filthy and badly neglected. The lights didn’t work properly, the air-conditioning barely cooled, and the place felt dark and depressing compared with what was advertised. The staff member’s behavior was the worst part. After I asked to extend checkout, one staff member called me “pukimak,” then threatened and followed me to the lift to make sure I’d paid the extra charge. It was intimidating, degrading, and completely unprofessional. No guest should be treated like that. To me, this was harassment, not just bad service. This property is extremely low class and an embarrassment. Agoda shouldn’t list it. I strongly advise people to stay away unless they’re prepared for dirt, broken facilities, and abusive staff.

The room and facilities were far below what I expected, especially for cleanliness and comfort. The room smelled unpleasant, the floors and windows were dusty, and there were cobwebs on the ceiling and cigarette butts in the toilet window. The bath towels were dusty, and the sheets had blood stains and dirt marks. The ironing board was burnt and full of holes, and the TV had no channels. The toilet water ran very slowly, while the dusty air conditioner had rubbish stuffed inside it. Check-in also took a long time because I had to wait for the room key. I hope management fixes these issues promptly so future guests don’t have the same experience.

We’ve stayed here twice as a family with small kids. The rooms are very spacious, there’s a fridge, and it’s quiet if you want to relax. The first time we checked in, we felt a bit spooked and wondered if we’d picked the wrong hotel, but nothing happened, no ghost stuff. The room, poolside, and parking area do feel creepy and could use improvement under the new management. We paid less than RM100 each time, so I can’t complain too much. The location is good, with a halal seafood restaurant right in front that also has Chinese Muslim style dishes.

Could be better. The place needs to keep up good cleanliness. Jiayou!
