The clear water was lovely, I could see the sand beneath it, and the beach and sky made a beautiful view. It’s a peaceful place to switch off, with no WiFi or TV, just nature and quiet. Bring extra food or plan a BBQ since there aren’t many places to eat nearby. A really refreshing getaway.

Breakfast arrived an hour late, and when it finally came, everything was cold. The beans were ice cold and tasted as if they’d gone bad. Our sheets and pillows had sand all over them, and there was a huge insect on the bed when we checked in. I know a beach resort can be hard to maintain, but a clean bed and hot food are basic things I’d expect, even at a cheap hotel. One of the worst stays I’ve had.

The ocean was clean, which was the only good part. The rooms were dirty, lots of things were missing, and there were dead ants on the beds. The place doesn’t look like the photos.

We stayed in the beach-facing “igloo” room, and the view was great. It felt family-friendly, but the cleanliness was poor: our cups had stains, the breakfast cutlery was dirty, and a rotten egg was served. Staff also took away the beach sun lounger for maintenance during our stay. I’m not sure why that couldn’t have been done earlier or before a busy weekend. The BBQ pit costs an extra RM32, which we hadn’t been told about and found surprising after paying almost RM600 for the room. Experience was 5/10.

The view was good, but I wouldn’t choose this for a vacation. The beach is rocky, with broken shells that could cut your feet or a child’s, bits of fishing net, and rubbish. There’s no TV, and there was no phone signal or other network connection, so we had to rely on the hotel WiFi. The outdoor lounge chair was quite dirty too. For RM338 for a room for three, I expected a bigger table or a cabinet for our luggage. The place isn’t well maintained or very clean, and the washroom still had stains from previous guests. The staff didn’t seem very professional. As a frequent traveller, I don’t think the price matches the room. I could accept it at RM150 or below.
