906 Riverside Hotel

I was charged twice for the same stay after making a duplicate booking for the same dates by mistake. I contacted the front desk right away, and staff agreed to cancel one booking and told me not to worry, so I thought it was sorted. Later, the hotel refused and said it was non-refundable. It’s especially disappointing that there was no flexibility, accountability, or sincere effort to fix something I reported early and that could have been corrected easily. The handling felt unprofessional and unfair. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone expecting fair customer service when something goes wrong.

I booked in 2024 and was surprised by the condition of the hotel. The entrance and outside looked completely uncared for. Inside, the room was dark and dirty, with dust everywhere, and the shelves and cabinets weren’t maintained well. I upgraded because the small room was too dark, choosing a river-view room in the hope it would be better. It wasn’t, so I left after one night. There are much better hotels around. Come here only if you’re on a budget and want the different experience I was looking for, though it went further than I expected.

Happy Laundromat is a real convenience, just a three-minute walk away and open 24 hours. They offer wash, dry, and fold service with free pickup and delivery. Handy when staying near Jonker Street, and the hotel is also well placed for tourist spots.

The water heater and air-con need repairs. Don’t park at the hotel, they’ll overcharge you RM10 per night. There are nearby parking spaces where you can park for free.
