I stayed in a windowless female dorm with air conditioning in this lovely colonial house in Melaka. Staff were kind, welcoming, and always smiling. Tea, coffee, and drinking water were free. There’s no breakfast or kitchen for cooking. The house sits on a street corner, and motorbikes and cars made it very noisy.
It’s very affordable and in a central spot, about a five-minute walk from Jonker Street, and would suit a big group. The main downside was the dust and areas that didn’t seem properly cleaned. When we asked for more toilet tissue, we were told they’d run out.
A lovely heritage home converted into a hostel, with friendly staff. A bonus if you like cats.
Works for solo travellers who are part of a group trip.
A nice option if you’re travelling alone.
