We could walk everywhere from this fantastic location. The accommodation is basic, but comfortable, and the host was lovely and full of recommendations. He’d also put cold water and fruit in the fridge for us.

The location worked out perfectly, about a 10-minute walk to Jonker street and the other historical area attractions. There’s a small patio, and the clean place had everything we expected. Mr. Kee was kind and understanding when our bus from Singapore ran late and we arrived at 3 am. He lives nearby, came to check us in, and showed us around with a smile. We had a long, interesting chat the next day and found him knowledgeable and smart. I’d recommend staying here and would be glad to return.

Jonker street is in the opposite direction from the beach, which is about a 10-minute walk away. The host also provides bikes to ride. For a single air-conditioned room, the price felt unbelievably good. The place was clean and comfortable, and there were teabags, coffee, and some fruit in the fridge for guests. We had a cosy, pleasant short stay.

Food is just a minute away, though the nearby coffeeshop can be noisy until midnight. It’s a 5-minute walk to buy TOTO(4D, 6D), and Jonker Street takes 10-15 minutes on foot. The two bicycles are free, but ask them to pump up the tires first. Probably best to rent the whole building.
