Golden Valley Hotel

I slept well here. The room was carpeted, clean, and looked new, with a thick comforter and a bed that was just right, neither too soft nor too hard. That suits me, as I have a slipped disc. There were two outlets for charging a phone and using a hair dryer. No kettle in the room, but there’s a water dispenser outside for hot water. A nice room.

I came in late at night with my sleeping baby and struggled to push the door open. A hotel staff member had just arrived, so I waited for her to help. She opened the door, went inside, and let it slam into me and my baby without holding it for us. Maybe she didn’t notice me as she walked past, I’m not sure, and at first I thought she might have her own issues so I shouldn’t judge. But all the staff at the property seemed just as unconcerned about being nice to customers. I didn’t expect five star service, just a smile, some kindness, and someone holding the door for a mother.

There are three floors, and the hotel sits at the side of the road. The rooms were maintained well and clean enough, while the staff were friendly. The price was reasonable too.

The rooms are cosy enough, and there’s plenty of parking, though it isn’t secured. There’s no breakfast place here. Also, if climbing a high staircase is difficult for you, make sure to book a ground floor room.
