ibis Melaka

Zahirul at the restaurant made a great impression. He prepared our Americano and cappuccino right away on the second morning, then remembered our usual order when we came for breakfast on the third day and served it without being asked. The front desk team were welcoming, and check-in at Ibis Melaka was smooth. On the second day, electrical equipment had to be replaced and the power went out for about 3-4 hours, so we left the room for a while. Once power came back, the front desk promptly called to let us know. That response and Zahirul's thoughtful service left us with a positive impression despite the interruption. We had a pleasant stay and would recommend it.

Breakfast was disappointing on all three mornings. The staff making eggs couldn't manage a good omelet or properly cooked fried eggs, and there was no butter, only margarine. Yogurt and cheese were missing too, although those are standard breakfast items in most IBIS hotels worldwide. The rooms looked worn, with visible repairs on the walls, ceiling, and floor, and the lobby was almost nonexistent, without the comfort or atmosphere you'd expect from a four-star hotel. We also got just one towel per person, which isn't what you'd expect at that level. Instead of the usual complimentary bottled water common across Southeast Asia, there was a small tap connected directly to the washbasin, and we don't really understand that choice. Several parts of the hotel fell well short of what we associate with a four-star property.

We spent three days here for team building, and Mr.Douglas (manager) and his team made everything easy. They were attentive and went the extra mile to make our stay pleasant. Huge kudos to them. I'd definitely recommend this hotel.

The swimming pool was the best part of our two nights and three days here. Breakfast is best around 9-10 am. The surroundings were beautiful, and all the staff were very well behaved. Zahirul was polite, humble, and genuinely helpful, always keeping an eye out in case we needed anything. Thank you, Zahirul. We hope to come back very soon.
