Imperial Heritage Hotel Melaka

I’d left another hotel unhappy, but two nights here cheered me up. The location is great, close to the malls and within walking distance of Jonker Walk. I was on the 16th floor and had lovely views north from my room, and south from the corridor outside the room entrance. The room had good facilities, plenty of TV channels, a fridge and a good bathroom. The bed linen was very good too. It’s an older hotel, and some areas show their age, as other reviews mention, but that didn’t take away from my stay or leave me feeling negative about it.

The location is excellent, but the inside of the hotel is rundown and the beautiful exterior gives a misleading impression. The room decor was old and outdated. I booked breakfast, yet there weren’t enough tables or seats. The breakfast area felt dingy, like an afterthought, and when I asked, I was told the eggs were cooked in margarine. The gym was a big disappointment and dangerous to use. Nothing worked, and the equipment was rickety; you only find that out after trying it. I hope a dedicated company takes over and runs this hotel properly. It could be a beautiful place if updated and managed honestly, especially given its location.

I spent 6 days at Imperial Heritage Hotel Melaka and had a pleasant stay. The front office staff were very friendly and helpful, and the rest of the team were just as warm and accommodating throughout. Check-in was quick and smooth. The only downside was the unstable room Wi-Fi, which disconnected often. Everything else met my expectations, and I’d consider coming back.

The experience was nowhere near worth the price. Check-in took a very long time because only one counter was open. In the room, things looked old and poorly maintained; there were no slippers or tissues, and the towels were dirty and didn’t feel hygienic. The wash basin was clogged and inconvenient to use. Very disappointing.
