The location is excellent, and the price felt right. Our room was clean and met our needs. We were on the first floor facing the street, where scooters and rickshaw drivers played loud music at night. We hadn't expected that kind of noise on a Wednesday. At check-in, staff warned us and offered a quieter, larger room on the fourth floor. Since we chose to stay put, I can't really count the noise against the hotel. The noise aside, I'd recommend taking a rickshaw tour of the city. In about 30 minutes you can see the main sights near the hotel, hear about their history, and have fun. Just pick a driver who speaks English.

The room was spacious and elegant, and mine stayed quiet despite being on a busy street. The hotel is close to major sights and shops. I'd stay at JonkeRed again if I visit Melacca.

We booked this hotel because my children wanted extra time to choose kebaya nyonya clothes at the shops next door. It's also handy for tourist attractions. Pasar malam is right in front, so we could wander back and forth, window-shop, and, of course, buy some tasty local food 😂. The road outside was closed, so we parked in the lot across from TH, 500 m away. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful.

Dutch Square is literally right beside the hotel, and there's a 711 next door too. Our room had no windows, but that was fine since we spent most of our time out. Staff let us leave our luggage after checkout. I'd definitely come back.

The staff were great and efficient, and the location is fab. The rooms were perfectly clean, with enough space for suitcases and hanging clothes, and had everything I needed. I'd stick to a third-floor room for natural light. The other rooms have bad damp and mold issues.
