We paid 60rm for one night in a double room with its own bathroom, thanks to a promotion, so it was great value. The room was clean and had a fridge, and the location was excellent. On our second day, the receptionist was especially kind.

I’m still upset about what happened on Saturday, 17/12/16. We paid RM200 for the room that night, but Raana, the counter guy, gave us no receipt. The next morning, another counter attendant, an aunty, told us the actual charge was RM140. I never expected something like this in Malacca. We even had to ask at the counter for toilet paper. We tried reaching Raana and the boss of Sayang Harmony Lodge that day but couldn’t get through. I’m grateful to the aunty for telling us the truth; the one star is for her, not the lodge. I suspect this may have happened before, but customers or the boss may not know.

For a budget stay in Melaka, this is one of the better choices. The rooms are large and have WIFI, and the owner, a kind uncle, was welcoming. Most places are within walking distance, and it’s a good place to get a night’s rest.
