Rivero Boutique Hotel

Clean room, good place to rest, and top-notch service. Eating spots and Aeon are both an easy walk away.

My room was in the non-smoking area, and I liked it. Parking was easy, and the hotel’s process was straightforward. There weren’t many guests at the time, and behind the hotel there’s a river to stroll by, with quite a few restaurants around. A shopping mall is close too, so it’s easy to find other things to do. One problem was the toilet ventilation: it seemed connected to upstairs, and if I left the switch off, the bathroom smelled of cigarette smoke. Parking is paid to the local authority, and the hotel doesn’t provide the app, so I suggest downloading one to pay.

The room was on the ground floor, and an adjacent door was left open all night, which made it feel unsafe, especially for female guests. A noisy parrot at a neighboring shop also disturbed my sleep early in the morning. The amenities were inadequate, and reception staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. At check-in, the price didn’t match the rate I’d booked in advance. I had a negative experience and wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

The room had a TV, AC, and cupboard, and both it and the bathroom were clean. There was no fridge, and the Muslim shower was leaking, which I didn’t like. A small smoking area is on the first floor. Check-in before noon costs RM20, and there’s also a RM50 deposit, returned at checkout.
