Liu Men Melaka - by Preference

We loved staying at Liu Men Hotel. The place is clean and beautiful, with a comfortable bed, a good shower, and great slippers. The free extras and gifts were thoughtful, and much appreciated. It's easy to walk around and explore from here. If you'd rather take a water taxi than go on the river cruise, wait at one of the pickup points and wave when one comes near. You can buy your ticket on board.

We got a gift as well, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and happy to help with a smile. They made us feel welcome right away, even offering a drink and a cold towel to cool us down in the warm weather. The room was clean and comfortable, and it was easy to relax there after a long day. The location was handy for everything we needed, but the hotel itself was still quiet and peaceful. It was a pleasant, memorable stay. I'd happily come back and recommend it for comfort, good service, and good value.

The private car park with CCTV gave me extra peace of mind while driving in. I also found the hotel comfortable enough for a longer stay, with a homely yet luxurious feel. The ambience, cleanliness, and overall setup were all very good. In my opinion, it's better than many five-star hotels in the area. The only things missing are a swimming pool and gym, but the service, comfort, and attention to detail were so good that I'd give it six out of five stars if I could. I stayed in the Jebat Room, which had a special design and character that made the experience feel unique. The toilet was spotless, like a newly renovated bathroom, and the L’Occitane shower gel and shampoo added a premium touch. A handwritten welcome note from the hotel manager made things feel personal. You can tell they pay attention to details. Even the slippers came in different colors so you and your partner don't mix them up, and they provide mineral water for rinsing after brushing your teeth. The hotel is in a heritage building but is exceptionally well maintained. The lobby smelled amazing and felt welcoming from the moment I walked in. Staff were extremely friendly and attentive, and they took the initiative to suggest interesting places to visit around Melaka. Check-in was smooth, professional, and efficient. There were local snacks, fresh fruit, and a welcome drink waiting when I arrived. I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Liu Men Hotel Melaka, and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Melaka who appreciates heritage charm and thoughtful hospitality.

We celebrated 45 years of friendship with a recent stay at Liu Men Hotel. Our group of 16 friends booked 8 rooms two months ahead, 4 Hang Tuah rooms and 4 Hang Jebat rooms, named after Melaka's finest warriors. The hotel is a modern boutique place, just a 3-minute walk from Jonker Street. Walking through the glass doors, we were struck by the cozy, inviting, peaceful ambience. The Peranakan-inspired decor, lobby and courtyard artifacts, red cast iron spiral staircase, four-poster beds, L'Occitaine toiletries, black-and-white bathroom tiles, and Chinese lanterns outside each room all added to its charm. Ray and the whole team, from concierge, reservations, and reception to housekeeping and restaurant staff, helped make our stay memorable. They were polite, friendly, and accommodating. They set up a long table in the lounge so we could have breakfast together, and decorated the courtyard for our friendship anniversary. The next morning, we had a delicious red velvet cake at breakfast. It was a perfect, memorable getaway for our anniversary.
