The one bright spot was how clean it was. We also got to check in two hours early, and the food was really tasty. But over eight months of travel, this is the worst hotel I've stayed in. The Wi-Fi was so awful it might as well not have existed. The walls felt like paper thin plasterboard. You could hear the next person rustling a bag, and even feel or see the wall move when people walked around. Wherever we were, people talking and walking sounded like they were right beside us. I've paid £5 for places that were better.

The staff were nice and gave us useful tips, and there's also a small restaurant called "Pizza and Yogurt" with a nice riverside view. Andrew makes the pizza himself, and you can have lunch or dinner there. We had a really good time at Andrew's hostel. It was clean, a two-minute walk from Jonker street, and we had a private room with a bathroom downstairs. It's a great spot if you like being out late, though it was a little noisy for us morning tourists.

This was my third stay here, partly because I like being by the river and close to Jonker Walk and the historic sites. There's access to the river during the day through the back door, which leads to a cafe serving pizza and yogurt. My ground-floor double room with attached bathroom was clean and quiet. The curtained window faced the hallway, and the AC and water heater worked fine. The bathroom has waterproof floor tiles. There isn't a working TV, kettle or glasses in the room, just wall hooks instead of a closet. There are two power outlets, a small table and a bar stool. Reception has a sofa lounge, and free Wi-Fi is available. Parking on the narrow street is difficult, but a 24-hour laundry shop is a few steps towards Jonker Walk. It also has a drinking water refill machine.

I booked at the last minute that morning, before check-in, and called the hotel to confirm. The owner was very friendly. The room was basic but spotless, with good AC and water pressure. It's only about 150m on foot from the jonker night market. I'd definitely come back for another short trip.
