OYO 89960 Manjung Inn Hotel

For a budget hotel, it was very clean and everything worked well. They don’t provide toiletries or 3-in-1 coffee, though. The water filter machine is outside the room and has hot and cold water. Thanks for the stay.

I stayed 7 nights in a Double Deluxe Room. The aircond was cold, the shower heater and ventilation fan worked, and the bidet flow was good. The TV had 9 channels with no signal interruptions during my stay, and there were no bed bugs. The window view was okay. The blanket provided was too thin for me, so I brought my own. Wifi stuttered now and then, and traffic noise from the busy road was unpleasant at times, with revving motorbikes and loud car exhausts. There are Maggi noodle cups at the counter, plus 99 Speedmart, 7/11, Manjung bus station, government offices, and a nasi campur restaurant within walking distance. There’s also a car wash, Kedai uncle jual outdoor appliances, and a delicious Warung sup. Parking is roadside and paid through online apps. Do pay, because I saw a PBT officer quickly saman someone at 9am right in front of me. Parking under the trees means bird poop for sure. I was one of the victims. 🥲

Inside, it’s not bad at all. The hotel has just been refurbished, and the room was clean, the bed and pillow comfortable, and the air conditioning cold. The owner kindly let us check out late without an extra charge. The outside needs work, though. It looked horrific, especially at night. I arrived at 10 pm and nearly cancelled because of the exterior.

Check-in was quick, and the room was clean, quiet, and didn’t smell of smoke. The bed was comfortable, the TV had channels, and both the aircond and water heater worked fine. There’s no kettle or fridge, but two cuckoo machines provide hot and cold water. 99 Speedmart is next door, with local Malay stalls across the street. The hotel is upstairs where you can see the oyo logo. Parking is easy in the shop lots, though PBT parking needs to be paid during office hours. Only one access card was provided, so if you go for water or to a nearby shop, you need to call someone inside. Also, the electricity cuts off at exactly 12pm at checkout. We were still packing our food and clearing rubbish when everything went dark, which felt harsh. I could hear kids screaming and crying next door, too. I hope the manager considers giving guests a 10-15 minute buffer.
