10/10
The room was very clean and well organized, and I loved the environment. Grand Palace hotel is comfortable and in a handy spot, just a short walk from a supermarket and a few eateries.

10/10
Whenever I stay in this part of Sarawak, I try to book one of the reasonably priced superior rooms. Grand Palace has a really distinctive old fashioned look, and I hope it keeps that character for years. The lobby is subtly decadent, the washrooms are tiled, and even the antique rooms have understated furnishings. The whole place preserves a tasteful style from decades ago, which feels right for Miri, a well-to-do town. I hope they avoid bland modern updates when refurbishing. The staff and service are notably stellar too, and seem well trained.

The food at the pre-wedding dinner was good, and the waiters were very friendly.

It was a fairly quiet place, with comfortable rooms and a spacious parking area.

The lift was out and the food was out too. So sad, this was my first and last stay here.
