Sheraton Kuching Hotel

The staff were gracious and professional throughout, and the whole place felt polished while still welcoming. My room at Sheraton Kuching Hotel was spacious and very well kept, with thoughtful details that made it calm and comfortable. Arrival to departure was relaxing, and the hotel made for an easy, enjoyable stay. I'd gladly return.

The central Kuching location is awesome, and we had a great stay. The rooftop pool has amazing views, and the kids play room is a lovely extra. The only real drawback for me was the very soft bed. There weren't any memory foam pillows available, so I struggled a bit to sleep, though that's down to personal preference.

We stayed with family for the New Year's Eve countdown, Dec 31 to Jan 1. The hotel has a really cool, modern design, the Christmas decorations looked beautiful, and our room was comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast was easily the best I've ever had, with a huge choice of food and fresh fruit. The infinity pool also has a breathtaking view over the city and Sarawak River. A few things didn't work as well. There are only four lifts for 23 floors and 378 rooms, so waits could be long. For a hotel this size, the pool is only about 20m long and felt much too small. Parking spaces were very limited. During the holiday rush, just two staff were clearing plates at breakfast. They worked hard, but the hotel needs more people at busy times. A beautiful stay, though the lifts, pool, and staffing need to keep up with the number of guests.

The location is right in the heart of Kuching City, within easy walking distance of the Kuching Waterfront, Top Spot Seafood, and local breakfast spots along Jalan Padungan. The rooftop infinity pool on the 23rd floor looks out over the city and Borneo countryside. It's a great view. At Sheraton Kuching Hotel, rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well maintained. Guests can get useful amenities like plug points and coffee machines, and high floor rooms offer a good view of the city and surrounding area. The service is one of the best parts. Staff are friendly, helpful, attentive, and polite. They go out of their way, even with nice surprises such as anniversary cakes and cards, and make you feel welcome from check-in to check-out. Breakfast at Nomadic, the ground floor restaurant, is varied and good quality. The setting is spacious, and there's a broad spread, from Laksa Sarawak and Nasi Lemak to continental, American, and vegetarian options. A great way to start the day. Overall, the comfortable rooms, excellent service, good breakfast, and central location give this a real 5-star feel.
