Stirling Suites Hotel & Serviced Apartment

Breakfast was a real bright spot: it was reasonably priced, had more variety and quality than I expected, and the café staff kept everything looking good and replenished. Miss Joanne at the hotel café also made a strong impression. After I mentioned an issue with a drink, she promptly brought me a fresh one, and her attentive, warm service felt very professional. The setting is quiet and comfortable, and the location is handy for business travel. I’d consider it one of Miri’s best options for a work stay, with thoughtful service and good value.

Cockroaches in the room and unusable Wi-Fi made the stay worse. The extra bed was just a mattress on the floor, without a frame. Although there’s a kitchen, its door was locked, and there wasn’t even a dining table for an apartment. The bathroom’s barn-style door wouldn’t latch or close properly, leaving no privacy and letting people see inside. The gym and pool also don’t open until 10:00 AM.

The room was hot and poorly lit, and the food and drinks kept running short. I managed to get just one drink and one karipap. This was about the Ramadhan buffet in 2026, and it was the worst buffet I’ve experienced. They aren’t transparent about their engagements, either. Negative comments on their social media get deleted, which is why I’m posting on Google Maps.

The room itself was clean, tidy, in good condition, and had a nice atmosphere. We picked the place because the kids wanted the pool, and I’d come back. The laksa was delicious, though portions were small and refills came late. Breakfast cost RM19.90 for adults and RM9.00+ for kids and senior citizens. That lower rate seemed fair for the food, but the adult price felt too high given the limited choices. We couldn’t try the lunch buffet because it was fully booked, even at the affordable RM12.90 price. During the CNY festive period, staffing seemed thin. We arrived around 3:30 pm and the room still hadn’t been cleaned; reception suggested waiting until 5 or 6 pm. The next day, the hotel messaged us to check out by noon or face a charge. Since we’d checked in a few hours later than planned, I wish we’d been given an extra hour or so. Hopefully they can sort that out in future.
