For a short stay, 91 Street Boutique Inn could work if you’re looking for a budget place near Marina Beach and dining spots. Rates start at about $13 a night, and guests often mention the helpful, friendly staff. Still, there are reports of unclean bathrooms, insects, dated furnishings, leaking air conditioners, and broken lights. Street-facing rooms can also be noisy, so it may be worth checking recent reviews and asking for a room away from the street.

The hotel’s atmosphere was pleasant, with no bad smell, and the hallway smelled really nice. They also provide an air purifier in the room. The front desk staff were friendly, and the price felt fair for what we paid.

The room was spacious, and check-in was easy thanks to the very nice lady at the front desk. It’s a good option for a business trip. During my visit, though, the water pressure wasn’t quite strong enough. Still, it was okay overall.

There are lots of restaurants and convenience stores nearby, and the hotel interior is quite interesting. My room and the sheets, blanket, and pillowcase were clean, but the bathroom could have been cleaner. The mattress felt old, and I could feel its springs when I lay down.

Our room was nothing like the one in the advertisement. We booked it for a few hours so we could pray and bathe after our Niah trekking before flying home, but the room we got was much smaller than the photos showed. We could barely move around, let alone pray on the floor. Room numb 302. The bathroom was dirty, and I got worried I might be stuck inside because the door was so hard to open. We already had low expectations for a 2-star hotel, but this was far more disappointing than expected. We wouldn’t recommend it. It’s baffling to see the good reviews. Maybe there are decent rooms somewhere, but ours definitely wasn’t one of them.
