The location near shops and the beach was the only good part. We were so unhappy with the stay that we left after one night, checked out early, and moved to another hotel. It was traumatic for us, and we definitely won’t return. The check-in counter felt gloomy, and the staff weren’t welcoming or friendly. When we entered the room, mosquitoes flew out everywhere, so we had to buy Ridsect from a nearby shop. The room smelled musty and felt tiny, old, and badly maintained. The TV had no remote and only two channels. Toiletries amounted to one small bar of soap. The bathroom was unpleasant too, with a leaking sink, a scary-looking toilet, and unfinished flooring.

The room was filthy, the pool was dirty and noisy, there was barely enough space for two people to walk inside, and the toilet was bad. The room condition, facilities, and size might make sense at around 30RM a night, but paying nearly 200 RM per night was absolutely not worth it. The place looked nothing like the photos. Pangkor’s quality for the price has become terribly bad across the board. I’m not coming back.

We had a really bad experience when our helmet went missing right in front of the hotel gate. That made no sense to us because people hadn’t touched helmets or other things outside at any of the other places. The room was old, more like a motel priced at 20-30rm, and there were no toiletries. The pool was tiny and dirty, and the room had mosquitoes and cockroaches. We booked in a hurry because other places were sold out, but this hotel was overpriced and not worth staying at. I was affected by the same bad experiences others described. The receptionist was foreign (Rohinya) and seemed to lack enough guidance or training about the facilities. There were no basic toiletries. Worse, a leak in the main pipe outside left us without water for more than 20 hours. There was no water reservoir, so guests had no backup option. The swimming pool was dirty and looked like it perhaps hadn’t been cleaned in a year. I paid $250+ because it was a holiday, and it was a total waste of money. Extremely let down. 😣 Avoid this place.
