Sun Inns Hotel @ KOI

A good price for a quick, no-frills stay, though it could be a bit cleaner. The shower holder is often broken, so you mostly have to use the hand shower. There are several convenience stores nearby, and the Indian restaurant next door is handy.

The room itself was comfortable to rest in, and I’d rate both it and its facilities 5/5. The environment gets 3/5, the reception service 2/5, and the reservation process 3/5. The woman at reception was very friendly, but my experience with the information I got by phone was really disappointing. I asked several times about public transport access and distance. I was told it was a 10-minute walk, so arriving late at night, I expected 10 to 15 minutes. It turned out to be over 20 minutes in the dark, and I decided to take a cab. I felt misled and then got no initiative or solution from the hotel. I know you get what you pay for, but if I’d had the right information, I might have stayed somewhere else. I chose this place because I thought they’d offer good service, perhaps even go beyond expectations. I hope the staff show more enthusiasm about helping guests in future. Thanks for having us, though :)

The room was average in size and only moderately clean. There were dead flies or bugs stuck to the floor, and the curtains had stains and smelled of cigarettes. It was meant to be a non-smoking room, but management doesn’t seem to enforce that. The hot water hose leaked at the handle and sprayed everywhere when hung on the wall. The TV channels weren’t all clear, and the air conditioner blew straight at the bed. They were also stingy when we asked for another toilet roll and bottled water. Please provide extra pillows when guests ask. Our room was on the third floor facing the road, above a 24-hour mamak restaurant, and we heard loud talking, yelling, motorbikes and honking all night. The air conditioning couldn’t block it. We hoped it would quiet down by 2 a.m., but it carried on until 7 a.m., when we’d had enough and checked out. Maybe a room farther from the road and restaurant would be quieter, but I don’t know. The location is good, and the staff were helpful apart from the issue with the water and toilet paper. This hotel has potential, but the owner needs to read the reviews and make changes.

The room was surprisingly clean and comfortable for the price, and the staff were so friendly. I had a lovely stay at Sun Inns Hotel Koi. Thanks for the service!
