Nipah Guesthouse Pangkor

A cute, relaxing place close to the beach. We had a lovely stay, with wonderful hosts and a very calm atmosphere.

The design is nice and clean, so it’s very suitable for taking pictures. It also suits someone who just wants to relax, since there aren’t other activities. For families, especially with kids, I don’t think it’s a good fit because children might spoil the neat look. It’s far from the beach, and the nice pools are just for decoration, so they don’t make up for the distance. Even a small splash of water seemed unwelcome. Make sure you switch off electrical appliances even if you’re leaving the room for only a few minutes. You’re monitored around the premises. If you don’t believe me, check with the neighboring villas and guesthouses.

The owner came across as a bit arrogant and rude. In the A-frame unit, there’s only one bed downstairs, with no bed or mattress in the upper section. If you want extra mattresses upstairs, they charge RM50 per person.

We decided at the last minute to extend our stay in Pangkor, and the owner arranged it smoothly. They clearly went over the terms and conditions, and were incredibly kind and helpful. They even helped carry our things when our hands were full. We really appreciated the hospitality and would highly recommend staying here when visiting Pangkor.
