Pangkor Laut Resort

The baby cot was put in the room with the honeymoon decorations, which felt like a joke. We’d arranged three rooms, one for my parents, one for my sister’s honeymoon, and one for me and my one-year-old. I’d emailed several days beforehand with the details, including that my mom needed wheelchair assistance, but there was no wheelchair when we arrived. These basic requests were mishandled, and the lack of attention and care was a real letdown for a place that presents itself as luxury. I’d had a wonderful stay at Pangkor Laut Resort in 2022, so this visit was a huge disappointment. I don’t think the resort will impress anyone who has experienced luxury before. I won’t return, and Pangkor Laut Resort should learn from other luxury resorts.

Dian was the person who finally sorted out arrangements for us, even after we’d run into service problems several times. She’d looked after us on our previous visit, and her professionalism and dedication deserve recognition. At the jetty, I also saw a management representative who seemed unsure of his role. When a visitor raised a concern, he tried to steer the conversation elsewhere and seemed keener to announce that a Chief Minister’s family was staying at the resort. This is our second visit, and we arrived three days ago. Our first stay was excellent, but this weekend the resort seemed unprepared for the number of guests. Service at reception, the restaurant, café, and room service all fell short. YTL needs to address this promptly if Pangkor Laut Resort is to remain a sought-after island getaway. As returning guests, we expected the same quality as before, and this visit didn’t meet it.

The meals were a highlight: we had lots of breakfast choices at Feast Village, a relaxing lunch by the beach at Chapman’s Bar, and flavourful Chinese food at Uncle Lim’s Kitchen. The meeting room at The Snug was comfortable too, with coffee and tea kept coming. Pangkor Laut Island’s natural beauty, the facilities, and the hospitality made the experience special for our group of nine in five rooms. A big thank you to Ms. Yee Sin from the Pangkor Laut Sales Team Office for making the booking smooth and convenient. Mr. Segar and the Ground Service Team were warm and personal, and the service felt worthy of Pangkor Laut Resort’s reputation. We’re grateful to Ms. Yee Sin, Mr. Segar, and the whole team for a memorable stay, and hope to return soon. We’d recommend the resort, especially to couples. The Sea Villa area has a romantic, breathtaking atmosphere.

Kimie, Mizan, Nazli, Apon, Robin, Mages, THT and the rest of the crew helped make our trip great. The team made our anniversary and birthdays feel special with thoughtful arrangements and kindness, and it was clear they cared about creating a meaningful occasion. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived. So many staff remembered us and greeted us warmly throughout the stay, which made it feel like coming back to family. We’re grateful to everyone for making the celebrations so memorable. We highly recommend PLR Resort and are already looking forward to another visit.
