The beach was clean, and the kids had water sports operators to keep them entertained. Mr Sugu and his team looked after us very well on both of our family trips, in January 2025 and May 2026. We booked three rooms each time for our group of 12. My uncle especially enjoyed the fish curry and thosai at breakfast. Mr Sugu also gave us great suggestions for restaurants and duty-free shops. We’ll surely return to Pangkor Sandy Beach Resort.

The location right beside the beach gives the place a lovely feel. Our room was clean, comfortable and relaxing, and breakfast was good. There weren’t many vegetarian choices, but they kindly made us fresh vegetable fried rice to order, which we appreciated. We had a pleasant stay and I’d recommend it.

The gardens and pool are beautiful and peaceful, with lots of birds, including hornbills. Take a walk around to enjoy the plants and water feature, and make use of the outdoor shower. We loved sitting on our lodge verandah, looking out to sea and listening to nature. The lodge was spacious, quiet, very comfortable and spotless, with everything we needed. Staff maintained it well and attended to it daily. The resort sits right on a lovely clean beach, with easy access to the sea and local amenities. The views are amazing, especially at sunset. Breakfast had plenty of delicious choices, including new things to try. We also ate lunch and dinner there. Chef Abdul went out of his way with tuna sandwiches that tasted like home, lovely fresh fish, vegetables and salads, and an incredible prawn curry. We ordered that curry two days in a row. Service was friendly and relaxed. Everyone on staff was so welcoming, always smiling, saying hello or waving, and happy to help. The manager was around a lot and always stopped for a chat. Leaving felt like saying goodbye to friends, and I was sad to go. Thank you all for a wonderful stay. I really hope to see you again.

We visited Pangkor Sandy Beach in early May, during low season. It’s a good time to come if you want to avoid crowds and traffic. It rained for about 30 minutes to an hour each day, which I liked because the sun didn’t burn my skin too badly. We paid RM 300 for a one-hour speedboat ride for two, passing a couple of islands. The sea looked calm and clear, but there was visible pollution, with lots of rubbish and oil bubbles. We still managed to spot some colourful fish. Pangkor Island is only about 18 km around. There’s no Grab, just pink vans for public transport, though you can rent motorbikes. Restaurants are within a 5-10 minute walk, mostly Chinese seafood places and some Indian mamak stalls. Pangkor has been duty-free since 2020, but we couldn’t find wine or whiskey, only beer. We brought our own wine to restaurants and weren’t charged corkage. We paid around RM 200+ per room for two people, with a simple breakfast included. The resort has two floors of rooms, all facing the pool. Ground-floor rooms have a table and chairs on the porch, while upper rooms don’t. The rooms seem newly refurbished and have new sheets, though the bed was on the hard side. The shower pressure was low, but the hot water was reliable, and the drainage had some issues. Towels were old and yellow. There were two bottles of water daily, a safe, fridge and TV with local channels. The pool is basic, but we came for the beach and sea. The beach isn’t private, but it was good enough for a day or two.

The manager was always there to help, and room service was good. All the staff were friendly and efficient. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, and dinner was western food, which was excellent. We’ll definitely come back. Keep up the good service!
