Beringgis Beach Resort & Spa

The beach was pretty clean, and the pool was okay. I saw a worker clean it once during my stay. My room was great, though the shower water got so hot I nearly burned my skin. Breakfast was decent too. It was almost empty when I visited on a weekday, with fewer than five rooms occupied, so the place felt a bit spooky at night. I booked a room facing the pool, but only one of the six balcony lights was on. I wish they'd turn those lights on. The room is a little walk from the main lobby, and there are CCTV cameras around the resort. If you want somewhere really quiet, you may like it.

There are a few things to do here with friends or family, including yoga, volleyball, futsal and swimming. Some staff were helpful and friendly, though a few could have been more welcoming. The food looks fancy but tastes only a little above average. It's a peaceful, clean spot for a short getaway, and the room and grounds were well kept. The pool was a letdown, with cloudy water and some debris. The beach view was just okay, though it was nice to have the sea breeze and sunset nearby. A quiet stay overall, but service and pool upkeep could improve.

I booked eight rooms at Beringgis Beach Resort for my extended family. When I asked reception for help getting our bags from the lobby to the rooms, the staff seemed unhappy and said nobody was available. There wasn't a luggage trolley either. My children and I ended up carrying everything ourselves in light rain while the staff watched without helping. The rooms were dusty and not very clean, and the property seemed poorly maintained. The price didn't match what we got. I hope they improve both the service and room cleanliness.

We had a relaxing, memorable stay at Beringgis Beach Resort and would happily return and recommend it to friends and family. It seems well suited to couples, families, or anyone after a quiet escape in Sabah.
