Hotel 99 - SS2

The first room had marks on the bed, a strange smell, a wet toilet floor, rubbish left in the bin, and a broken light switch with its cover missing. I’d read the low ratings before booking, but chose the hotel for its location near my event. I even asked them to make sure the bed was clean. They moved me to another room, which was a little better, but the wardrobe was partly broken and the towels in both rooms were worn, old, and fraying. An unlocked storage closet left open also looked unprofessional. The next morning I woke with itchy skin, especially on my hair, hands, and legs. Considering the room condition, I was worried about how clean the linens were. Cleanliness was the main problem. I’m glad I booked just one night and had planned to be out all day. If I come back to this area, I’d pay more for a better hotel.

There was lizard droppings in several spots, the aircon wasn’t cold, and the whole building had almost no airflow. The towels were torn and the sheets badly stained. There was no ironing board, and I didn’t get the room I booked until I questioned reception. Beware.

The toilet had cockroaches, and even after changing rooms a few times I wasn’t satisfied. Some rooms smelled of smoke, and the bed made me feel itchy. Too lousy, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The reception won’t answer calls during the day. I couldn’t get my cancellation processed, and Agoda and the hotel kept passing responsibility back and forth.
