There are lots of well-known local food places within walking distance, and the room was spacious with a full set of kitchen accessories. Overall, it’s a very good hotel. The downside is having to use two different lifts each time, one to and from the lobby and another to reach the room. If you’re bringing pets, check with the hotel first. The pet charge is half the room rate per night. They were willing to negotiate the payment terms, which was fortunate, as otherwise the stay could have been unpleasant.

The staff are polite and helpful, and go out of their way to handle customer requests promptly. Food is especially convenient here, with F&B outlets in the complex and shops nearby. Somerset is surrounded by many famous, award winning places to eat, with enough variety for the whole family. I’ve met guests from all over, including the US, UK, Korea, Japan, China, and Singapore, as well as other countries. It suits both business and holiday stays for you and your family.

I paid over 1500 rm for five nights, and the quality and management attitude were nowhere near worth the price. I accidentally made a duplicate booking. After several attempts, top management refused to cancel or refund it, or reinstate my booking for the other date. I felt they took my money and hid behind policy without giving me anything. I had to call reception to get the power on, and it frequently went out, leaving guests in a dark, stuffy room. There was no nearby washroom, so you had to go to reception or the pool. There were no cups either, so you couldn’t serve drinks to guests. The gym was just as stuffy. With more than two people using it, it became smelly and hot. Its air conditioning was permanently set to auto, with no way to adjust the temperature. I strongly urge Ascott star review and agoda to consider removing this property from their listings. The poor management and service could damage the group’s reputation. Among Ascott properties, this is the worst I’ve encountered.

Starlink Mall is downstairs, and there are viral restaurants nearby, so the location is good. But the room’s air conditioning is too hot for me. They said sustainability means the lowest setting is 24 degrees. That’s quite hot for a hotel. We’ll stay again if they fix it. If not, we won’t.
