TH Hotel Kelana Jaya

I got to stay there through the final day of its operation, and it was a good, simple place for a family stay. Sadly, the hotel stopped operating in mid-October 2024. The memories connected with the Haj pilgrimage will be hard to let go of, and anyone who had that experience may feel the same now that the hotel is gone. Thank you to all the staff of THKJ, it will be greatly missed. I stopped by on 6 November 2024 to pray at the masjid, which was still open. Alhamdulillah.

We had lunch here with the whole family at the TH cafe, which is inside the TH hotel. It's a peaceful place with little noise, and there's a mosque beside the hotel. There's plenty of parking around the complex, and the large hall is used for weddings and other events or gatherings. The hotel was originally a facility for people going on the Haj pilgrimage, though the Haj operations have since moved to Sepang KLIA. People can now use the TH facilities and hotel too. The crew were helpful, though service was a bit slow.

We rented a hall for an 8-day training and were very unhappy with the service. The hall carpet smelled bad, even though management said it had been washed before our training. The restrooms were old, dirty, damp and smelly. The sanitary bin was already full of rubbish on day one. Management said the restrooms were cleaned daily, but apparently not that bin. The food tasted good, but there was barely any variety. The daily menu was almost the same, with fried noodles at breakfast and again in the afternoon throughout all eight days. There was also clear unequal treatment. On some days another company rented the hall during our training. Management didn't put the furniture back to the setup we had requested until we complained. The other company's decorations and setup looked very different from ours: their chairs had ribbons, they had a nice portable stage, and their catering area was neat and fancy. We didn't get any of that.

There’s plenty of parking, and a small cafe on the ground floor. The old hostel rooms have been upgraded into hotel rooms. It used to be the main center for the Haji pilgrimage, and now government agencies and organizations usually use it for meetings or training.
