The Katil Hostel Kota Damansara

My room and another tenant's room were broken into on 10/05/2018. I lost my laptop, ring and watch. They blamed me for not having personal insurance, even though they didn't have the legally required security measures in place. There was clearly a problem with how they fulfilled the contract, and they tried to pass the blame to the victims. Real class. Don't even think about staying here. Stay away from the KATIL, please take my word seriously. Other things I noticed: there was no CCTV or padlocks, and the doors were flimsy. The bathroom doors had no handles. The toilet bowls, shower heads and everything else in the residence were plastic and obviously the cheapest they could find. The fake wood floor was damaged and they didn't even try to fix it. The wall was dirty as hell. No bed sheets or pillows were provided, though you could buy them from the management. The kitchen was dirty and had just one single-head induction stove for 10 people. Do the math.

Avoid this at any cost. Moving in here was my worst decision. The WiFi hasn't worked since I moved in, and I've complained every day for the last three weeks with no response. There are no security cameras, the rooms are way too small, and the kitchen is shared with 10 other people. There are no locks on the bathroom.

The place itself is clean and cozy, and the idea is interesting, but I couldn't become a customer. Management seemed too busy to answer queries and didn't send information when they said they would. They sounded impatient and unfriendly when answering questions. My guess is they're struggling with the heavy demand and don't have a system to manage bookings.

There's no lift, and the place is on the top floor. Still, it's good value for money.
