The turtle area and mini zoo felt a bit sad, with such small habitats and cages, and cleanliness could be better. Our room was spotless except for a faint yellow mark on one blanket and a curly hair stuck to the soap by the sink. Those were small things and maybe housekeeping missed them, so it was still acceptable. The view was amazing, the receptionist and staff were kind, and the room was spacious. With the beach right in front of the pool, it feels like one of the better deals for the price. These issues are why I took off a star, though I'd probably return since this was a pretty good first impression. I also heard the resort has been under new management for a couple of years and that guest experience has improved. A few things to know: check-in is at 3 PM and checkout is before noon. Wi-Fi is limited to two guests per booking, but you can share a phone hotspot after logging in, including for a laptop. Bring towels and a change of clothes for the pool or beach, since you'll need to dry off before taking the elevator. I'd also bring toiletries such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, and comb.
For RM300+ a night with breakfast for four, this was one of the best deals I've found in PD in a long time. I asked for a high floor and sea-facing room and got one at no extra cost. It's an older resort, but the room was clean, the staff attentive, and four people handled check-in so guests didn't have to wait long. The maintenance team seems to keep things in order: no broken elevator, damaged facilities, or loose railings, and all three air conditioners worked. It's a reasonably priced, three-room apartment-style place with a big pool, a lovely beach, and a mini petting zoo for kids.
For RM450, I expected a much better room. The floor hadn't been cleaned properly, the bed slanted, the lighting was dim, and the air conditioner wasn't cooling well. The sea view was lovely, but that didn't make up for the condition. I had booked online for RM400, then found on arrival that someone was already using the room assigned to me. I asked for another room and had to pay RM50 extra for one with a sea view. I hope they improve room upkeep and customer service.
The dining options were a letdown: the restaurant was closed for dinner, and lunch ended promptly at 14:00. Around the pool there were no loungers, just a few benches, so sitting on one of those was the only way to relax. The place advertised a turtle hatchery, but what we saw was two or three turtles in a small, cramped basin. It felt sad more than educational. The internet rules were restrictive for 2026. At check-in they gave us a paper slip with login details for our stay, but it only worked on two devices. With a phone and laptop or tablet, that was inconvenient. Our top-floor room had a decent view but no Wi-Fi signal at all, so we moved several floors down to get basic internet. Staff were accommodating about moving us when the connection failed. The resort feels like it hasn't been updated since the 90s, and our stay from April 1 - April 4, 2026 had a string of small frustrations. The kitchenette had a kettle, cups and saucers, and a small selection of coffee and tea, but no cutlery, plates, or cooking facilities. There was no laundry service or guest laundry on site either, which made a stay longer than one night inconvenient. Unless you just need a bed and kettle and don't mind a bench by the pool, the basic modern comforts are lacking.
After checking out on 09/11/2025 from Block D, Room 2-26, I realized I'd left two power banks on the bed. I filed two Lost & Found reports and still haven't received an update. I was disappointed not to even get a simple acknowledgement. In my experience, the follow-up and communication could be much better. This wasn't a good stay for me, so I'm giving it one star.
