Istana Kuala Lumpur

I had an awesome stay. The room was large and had all the amenities described on the website, and housekeeping was efficient and very good. The lobby-level coffee shop was spacious, comfortable and well maintained. Service throughout was impeccable. The location is amazing, with food and party spots just a short walk away. There's a lovely swimming pool and a quaint lawn with a sundeck in the middle of the hotel, both good places to relax after a night out or tiring business meetings. Some emergency repair work was happening on a higher floor during my visit, but it seemed temporary and didn't change my rating.

The location is very convenient, with everything about a 3 min walk away. I liked the authentic design, and the rooms were clean and bright. Breakfast offered a wide choice, though it may not be a good match for a long stay. Room Service did a very good job, and the staff were especially helpful and friendly. The one problem I had was the air conditioning. When I set the thermostat below 20 Celsius, the room still wasn't comfortable.

I had a pleasant, comfortable one week stay for quarantine, choosing the premium package. My thanks for the warm hospitality from the operators, housekeeping and reception, especially when they helped recover my phone. The room was clean, if slightly dated. Food came well presented, tasty and in adequate portions. It was served warm, though a little hotter would have been better; I understand it came in disposable plastic containers. For breakfast, I'd suggest offering more variety, perhaps local fare on some days instead of the western big breakfast every day. A knife with western meat dishes would also help.

A classic modern look and a calm setting in the middle of the city center. Staff were attentive and helpful, and check-in was quick. They called a couple of times after check-in to make sure I was happy with the room. Depending on which room you choose, there are nice views of the twin towers city. Breakfast was very good with a good variety. Highly recommend.
