Mulyo Hotel

We’ve stayed here twice now, for three nights this time, and both visits were with family. Everyone agreed it’s a very family-friendly hotel. It’s simple and nice, and I can see management continuing to improve the facilities. They’ve put several little huts in front of the rooms, and there’s a BBQ area out back with enough seating. The location is handy, beside a laundry service and Apacaba Cafe, and the beach and restaurants are all an easy walk away. The staff are friendly and quick to respond. They even brought me a hairdryer when I asked.

We had a really enjoyable short break at Mulyo Hotel Teluk Kemang. It’s near the beach, with laundries and cafes close by. The room was comfortable, though the cleanliness could be a bit better, especially around the bathtub, which needed a more thorough clean. I’d read earlier reviews about water shortages, but we had no such trouble, and the water pressure was very satisfying. One small improvement would be to cover the little bathroom window fully and install the exhaust fan to help with bathroom smells and humidity. We enjoyed our time there and thought it was worth it for a short getaway.

Check-in was smooth, the room was clean, and the location is convenient around Port Dickson with lots of places to eat. For a short stay, the hotel is generally okay. My VIP room was at the end of the building beside the water tank storage, and the constant water pump noise made it hard to relax or sleep. Light sleepers may find it a major disturbance. The jacuzzi had only one water inlet gushing water, and its motor was very noisy too. The towel had an unpleasant odour. Better soundproofing and maintenance would make the place much more comfortable.

I chose the hotel for its great location within walking distance of the beach, its affordable price and high rating, even though I’d seen reviews mentioning weak air-conditioning, water stopping during showers and noise. The hotel was only about two years old, so I decided to give it a try. Fortunately, none of those issues came up for us. Our triple room still had enough room to move around after we put our luggage down. The air-conditioning took a while to cool, so I’d suggest turning it on at check-in and leaving it running. We must have come during the Malay fasting month, as the parking area wasn't full and parking was easy, but remember to pay the local parking fee. There’s a café next door with really good drinks. It was a pleasant stay, and I’d consider coming back.
