Paradise Spa Hotel

As soon as we got into the room, the smell of cigarette smoke mixed with a musty odor was overwhelming. The children complained and cried that they wanted to go home. Dust was visible on the air conditioner, table, and kettle, and when my child's pillow fell on the carpet, I saw dust and hair on it. The phone stand was loose and seemed poorly maintained. We had arrived just after 2:10 PM and were told to wait while the staff got our check-in documents ready. Around 2:30, they said the room still hadn't been cleaned. Earlier, we'd been told check-in was at 3:00, so we'd left and come back later. We were also told the previous guests checked out at noon, which made the delay hard to understand. We were there with two tired young children so the family could rest, but had to wait without a clear explanation, and the staff didn't seem especially helpful or welcoming. Then, about 20 minutes later, we were told the room was ready, which left us wondering if it had really been cleaned properly. The shower was difficult too. Water pressure on the third floor was extremely weak, the fixed shower head couldn't be detached to bathe the children, and the water wasn't hot enough. After only about three hours, we took a quick shower and gave up the rest of the night, driving home instead. We paid nearly RM260 and got a few hours of discomfort, poor service, and unacceptable cleanliness. A family break that was meant to be relaxing turned stressful and disappointing. I wouldn't recommend this place, especially for families with young children.

The rooftop view was great, and the hotel has a swimming pool and free parking. It serves breakfast only, and there’s a Malay restaurant just across the road at night. A pleasant three star hotel overall. We stayed for two nights. The bathroom in our first room smelled, which I only noticed at night. I asked the tall, skinny guy at reception, and he came to check and offered to move us. He gave very good service. The Indian lady at reception was helpful too, bringing mineral water when I asked after extending my stay. On checkout day I asked for a late checkout. She first said 12:30 PM latest, then called back to say 1:00 PM was possible. Good customer service. Thank you, team PS Hotel.

There are lots of places to eat nearby, including a restaurant right across from the hotel, and the food was delicious. It’s a decent budget option. The room was comfortable enough and the staff were friendly. There were a few spiderwebs, the water heater didn't work, and the ironing board was unusable. Still, everything else was fine.

The musty smell in the room was strong and unpleasant. The lift wasn't working, so after breakfast I had to take the stairs. Very disappointing.
