D'La Sri Cottage - Asia Camp

We stayed in Noah 2 from the 24th to the 26th. The staff were lovely, friendly, attentive, and answered our questions well. There’s a lot of space to explore, including a camping ground, barbecue area, and easy river access. Digi reception was pretty good too. The room was dusty when we arrived, especially under the bed, where there was hair, dust, and bugs. The towels had rust stains, and the electricity went out for a few hours a couple of times. The bathroom had a water heater, but the holder for toiletries and towel rail were broken, so there wasn’t a proper place for either. We asked before booking whether we could see the mountain from our room and were told yes. They didn’t mention that a huge tree would block most of it, leaving only about a quarter visible. There was an empty red house across from Noah 2 with a view, and I wondered why we weren’t put there since it was unoccupied. We were stuck with no view for both days. The road in was gravel and quite deep. I’d hoped for a great view and instead felt scammed.

The place is so beautiful, and I don’t regret going. The road is rough, with gravel and potholes all the way, and we got lost at the junctions. Please put up more signs. Service was so-so because staff weren’t around when we needed them. Nobody was at the counter during the power cut, and when we needed something extra, we were sent to the wrong “check in house” because nobody had shown us where to go. Then we had to move all our things to the new house. Thanks anyway.

The room was really dusty, with spider webs in several places. The cafe was closed when we went to eat, but thankfully there was a small shop selling instant noodles. The road out here is long and in bad shape, and the service was somewhere between okay and poor.

The road is narrow and mostly gravel, so I wouldn’t suggest coming in a small or low car. The place itself seems nice for family gatherings, with spacious parking, several parks, and good decorations. It’s like a homestay with a kitchen included. Staff said you can swim in the river, and you’ll have Mount Kinabalu right in front of you when the weather allows. The cafe wasn’t operating, so meals need to be booked ahead. I only stopped by for my first visit, but I hope to stay here someday.
